Jacobite Clash at Castle Fraser

Saturday the 6th of April 10 till 4

The Rising of 1745 comes back to life as Jacobites and Redcoats clash in the grounds around the historic Castle Fraser.
(MAP LINK)

The north-east of Scotland was vital recruiting ground for the army of Bonnie Prince Charlie, and government forces were determined to prevent the Jacobites from exploiting local sympathies. Discover what happens when patrols from the rival armies meet one another in the varied terrain surrounding the castle.

Members of the Alan Brecks Regiment will spend the day honing their drills and skirmishing tactics as part of their annual military training day, giving visitors to the castle a chance to meet the re-enactors and find out more about life in the armies of 1745.

Activity throughout the day; skirmishes 12 pm, 1 pm, 2 pm and 3 pm.

Featuring displays and performances from:
